Double skillion carport, Aspley

The standard answer, done properly — two cars out of the hail on an existing driveway.

Double carport with a low skillion roof over a concrete driveway

Illustrative example. This case study stands in for a confirmed Sunstate job while the real project details and photography are being finalised. It is representative of the work, not a record of a specific build.

What the job needed

A single-storey home with a low roofline and an existing double driveway. Two cars, no boat, no caravan, nothing tall. This is the job a flat-pack kit is closest to being right for, and we said so — the reason it was not is that the driveway falls away from the house and the span the owners wanted is wider than a standard kit.

What we built

A skillion roof at the lowest pitch that still sheds properly, engineered to the span, with the footings set to the fall of the driveway. The lower roof suited the house better than a gable would have, and cost less.
